Photo scanning, repair prints and slides High Wycombe, Marlow and Stokenchurch

Scanning old photo prints and slides to create a digital copy allows you to share old images with family and friends anywhere in the world whilst retaining the untouched original. Photographs can be scanned to a digital file, resized, repaired and saved to hard storage.  Once your photos, prints or slides have been digitised in High Wycombe, Marlow or Stokenchurch they can be stored on your phone or any other storage device.

Original prints, negative strips or slides scanned to create a digital file. Your chosen scans can be restored to close to their former glory and even recoloured to add a new dimension.

Digitise your memories preventing further damage and store them on any mobile storage device

Often, it is possible to repair all sorts of damage to old prints and slides to restore them closer to their former glory. Faded colour and contrast, missing or torn areas, lines dirt and discoloured areas can often be repaired to improve the image. I will be able to advise you on what to expect from a repair after I have seen the photos. Don't worry about your original, scanning to create a digital copy does not even touch the original photo which will be returned to you in the same condition as you gave it to me.

It couldn't get much worse than this

This image had been stored rolled up and when unrolled revealed cracks torn and broken sections damaging faces and backgrounds.

The before image shows the poor quality original image scanned to create a digital copy.

The after image shows what can be achieved after a fair amount of time and skill to restore the image to something worth printing.

Though modern professional scanners use clever software, automated software routines are often hit and miss. My scanning process, is carried out by hand only using the appropriate technology once satisfied it'll do a satisfactory job.

Standard format size is 35mm in either negative film strips or positive single square slides.
Medium format slides or negatives are about 2 inches square and do take a little longer to scan each image.

Older large format. If the media provided is a non-standard size a mount may have to be made to allow a scan one image at a time.
